These are the terms and conditions that you agree to upon submitting the article. These terms and conditions are subject to change and it is your responsibility to be aware of changes. Changes are listed at the bottom of the page in red.
For the purpose of the Terms and Conditions, "we", "our", "us", "AJ", "FSO" and "Fashion Students Online" refer to the owner of the website and internet hosting account under which the files are hosted, Annie Jackson. "You", "user/s", "author/s", viewer/s" refers to any person who is viewing or using the FashionStudentsOnline website in any way.
FSO Editing of Submitted Content:
Fashion Students Online reserves the right to edit written content and other media which is submitted to Fashion Students Online including the additional information which is included in the submission form such as, but not limited to, keywords, description, start publishing date, etc. The most common editing will be changing the formatting (font size, colour, etc), fix spelling mistakes and to correct grammar errors which make the article difficult to read. In images, the most common editing will be to remove redeye and to resize or crop, however additional editing may be applied. We reserve the right to add links both for commercial and non-commercial purposes (for example a link to a book on Amazon which is relevant to the article). Authors retain copyright however and as such will always be credited by displaying either their username or their "real name" as entered in their site information. We want the articles to retain their author's flavour but sometimes some editing does need to be done to maintain the professionalism of this website.
Fashion Students Online also reserves the right to not publish content which we deem inappropriate or unsatisfactory.
Editing Articles:
Currently users have permission to edit the articles that they submit. Be aware this is only because we have not found a way to turn it off. We keep original copies of all articles and if we notice an article has been edited by the author we will restore the original. The reason we do this is because when you submit the first article it contains a disclaimer granting us permission to use it and we keep a copy of that original submission. After this the only changes that should happen should be edits made by FSO staff members.
If you need to edit something in your article please submit another article. Make the title of the article "Edit Request". In the body of the article be sure the disclaimer is included, give us the title of the article you want edited, and tell us what needs to be edited.
Granting FSO Permission to Use the Content:
The first line in your submitted article must be the disclaimer. It should be in the submission form when you first open it -- do not delete it. Then type your real name and your username as a digital signature. If your article does not contain the disclaimer, your real name, and your username it will not be published and you will not earn FSOPs.
By submitting content of any kind to this website, including but not limited to articles, photos, other media, wiki edits, links or forum postings you grant Fashion Students Online non-exclusive right to use, publish, republish and share this content or pieces of this content via any method including but not limited to publishing on the FSO website, sharing and syndicating via RSS feeds, publishing excerpts on social networking sites, email distribution, and being quoted on other websites. Your submission of content to this website indicates you are aware that all artwork, photography and written work published on this website (unless originally published elsewhere) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Netherlands License.
Also by submitting content you are agreeing that you have the legal right to distribute and reuse this content as well as to grant Fashion Students Online such rights as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
Content which is submitted to FSO for publishing as an article within any category (with article being defined as photographic and/or written content for the website for which the website's back end system, Joomla, creates an article ID) can not be removed from the site except in a case of legal conflict except with agreement of Fashion Students Online and on a case-by-case basis where a legitimate reason has been proposed by FSO, a user, the author, or any other person or entity.
Content which is uploaded to your profile or any other user-controlled services such as your personal blog, personal image gallery, or personal portfolio will not be republished by FSO as an article, nor shared with the public via syndication nor email distribution unless permission has been received from the user -- this permission will be requested by FSO and granted by the user on a case by case basis for each piece of content FSO wishes to use. This content may however be used within the FSO site for promotion of various FSO features, for example, but not limited to, thumbnails of new gallery images may be displayed in another part of the FSO website in an effort to promote personal galleries. When this content is removed from the FSO service that it was uploaded to, FSO's rights to use it within the FSO site will cease unless permission had been granted by the user, in which case FSO will continue to have rights to use this content.
Content which is uploaded by you to the forum such as postings or attachments, you may at any time remove from the site and with such removal our rights to begin use of your content, unless otherwise granted, will cease. However if Fashion Students Online has already used your content before you remove it from our servers, for example but not limited to republishing a posting you made in the forum by quoting it in our site blog, Fashion Students Online will continue to have rights to use that content and will not be required to remove content previously published. If you believe there is a legitimate reason for FSO to cease using the content (such as safety or legal reasons) please contact us to discuss.

Fashion Students Online, Annie Jackson, and Fashion Students Online staff and volunteers are not liable for any damages done to any user or equipment by viewing this website, participating in this website in any form, submitting content, nor using information found on this website.

User's Responsibilities:
In using the FSO website, the user agrees to abide by the site rules. Users who are found to be breaking site rules may be banned from the website, may have their content removed or edited, and may loose FSOPs. FSO continues to have the rights as outlined in the Terms and Conditions upon banning of a user from the FSO website, or removal of a user's privelidges or FSOPs on the FSO website.
